Joyland is a neighborhood in Northeast Lexington, Kentucky, United States. Its boundaries are I-75/ I-64 to the south, Paris Pike to the east, Russell Cave Road to the west, and the Lexington Urban Growth Boundary to the north. Joyland is the only north Lexington neighborhood to be located entirely north of I-75.[1]
From 1923-1964 there was an amusement park that operated called Joyland Park. It was the "Best known park in the Bluegrass." it had two roller coasters, Wildcat,and Kiddie Coaster.The park closed in August 1964 and was torn down in 1965 for a neighborhood.
